Sunbeam House Respite Service is a bungalow situated on the grounds of St. Ciaran’s Services at Summerhill, Carrick-on-Shannon, Co. Leitrim.

It provides 3 overnight places on any given night for respite care for service users aged from 5 years to 18 years. It provides respite to service users with a diagnosis of Intellectual Disability. Service users may also have additional diagnoses of Autism or Sensory issues.

Sunbeam House can only accommodate one wheelchair user at any given time.  Nursing care is provided based on the assessed needs of the service users. Sunbeam House Respite Service is only funded to be open on a part time basis.

All referrals to Sunbeam House come through the children’s referral committee HSE.
