Help for years
St. Ciaran’s Day Service was established in 1983 to provide a Day Service for people with an intellectual disability from the South Leitrim/West Cavan catchment area.
Our aim is to provide a Person-Centred service to each individual. The New Directions programme is being implemented at the Day Service.
New Directions sets out twelve supports that should be available to people with disabilities using Day Services. It supports people to live a life of their choosing in accordance with their own wishes, needs and aspirations.

We cannot recommend Holy Family Preschool enough. In the short time that our daughter has attended Holy Family she has thrived both socially and developmentally. We are amazed by how quickly she has settled in and this is a testament to staff who are so caring, supportive, intuitive and just brilliant at what they do. The support, communication and partnership we have received from the staff & the whole school community has been far beyond our expectations. Our daughter is so happy and excited to go to preschool each day. Holy Family is a very special place and we are so grateful that our daughter has had the chance to experience such a warm and caring environment. Thank you so much for everything you do.

Michael & Claudine Parents of Harry
Our son Harry started the Holy family preschool when he was 2 years and 10 months old. We as a family were very much ‘deer in headlights’ as we did not know what to expect as he was afraid to leave the house and would not interact with anyone outside of our family of 4. We knew Harry had difficulties but the support and welcome that we received was second to none, for Harrys first year he excelled and was taught basic life lessons which where hugely challenging before now. Harry was diagnosed with level 3 autism during his time in Holy Family and the support we received again was exceptional. What we found from the Holy family is the following: Holy family was only a phone call away and always answered by staff who always reassured us and followed up on any concern we had no matter how big or small it was. Harry was happy and excited to go to school & excelled throughout the months & staff treated him like their own. The friendly bus drivers and escorts that arrived every morning, reassured us that Harry would be ok if he was having a bad morning, for us as a family we are blessed that the Holy family came into our lives at such a time of need and difficulties. We are in awe of each and every one of the staff that make up this fantastic unit.
