    North West Parents and Friends Association is a Voluntary Organisation providing person centred services for children and adults with special needs and their families.

     

    We are currently inviting applications for the below position.

     

    Job Title:             Staff Nurse (Preferred RNID qualification)

    Location:             Carrick On Shannon, Co. Leitrim

    Contract:             Permanent (30 hours per week)

     

    To work with Adults and Children with varying degrees of Intellectual Disability/Autism in Day/Residential/Respite Services.  Successful candidates will be expected to work hours which may include day time hours, evenings and night duty to include weekends.  Hours of work will vary.

    Essential Criteria
    • Current Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland.
    • Full Clean Driving Licence and willing to drive the company vehicle.
    • Experience of working with Adults/Children with Intellectual Disability and Autism.
    • Knowledge of HIQA regulations & New Directions.
    • Computer Skills (Proficient in Microsoft Office).
    • Must have strong command of English language (both verbally and written) and be eligible to work in Ireland.
    • Excellent communication skills.

    To work with Adults with varying degrees of Intellectual Disability/Autism in Residential Services.  Successful candidates will be expected to work hours which may include day time hours, evenings, night duty and/or sleepover duty to include weekends.  Hours of work will vary.

    Location:             Leitrim (Carrick On Shannon)

    Contract:             Locum / Fixed Term

    To work with Adults/Children with varying degrees of Intellectual Disability/Autism in Day/Residential/Respite Services.  Successful candidates will be expected to work hours which may include day time hours, evenings, night duty and/or sleepover duty to include weekends.  Hours of work will vary.

     

    Essential Criteria

    • FETAC/ QQI Level 5 (Major Award) in a relevant Healthcare course.
    • Experience of working with Adults and/or Children with Intellectual Disability and Autism.
    • Experience of working with people with a range of support needs to include behaviours of concern.
    • Full Clean Driving Licence and willing to drive the company vehicle.
    • Computer Skills (Proficient in Microsoft Office).
    • Must have strong command of English language (both verbally and written) and be eligible to work in Ireland.
    • Excellent communication skills.

     

    Desirable Criteria

    • Person Centred Planning.
    • Assessment and Management of Risk.
    • Safeguarding of Vulnerable Persons at Risk of Abuse training, First Aid training, Moving and Handling training, Food Hygiene training, Children First training.
    • Knowledge/experience of Menu Planning and household budgeting.
    • Knowledge of HIQA regulations & New Directions.
    • Ability to work using own initiative.
